In order to solve a double homicide, a retired cop named Shekar (Raja Shekar) turns to an active cop for assistance. Shekar is an expert at examining crime scenes and quickly determining who committed the crimes. No matter how quickly Shekar starts looking into his wife’s sudden demise, he can’t help but reflect on how they were before they split up with Indu (Aathmeeya Rajan). Rather than a car accident, it appears that his wife was murdered. He hired someone to kill his wife in the end, but who was it? Is he going to be able to get the information he needs? What distinguishes him from the rest of them? The only way to learn everything about the film is to watch it.

Movie Verdict

When it comes to thrillers, they’re always popular, but the story must be new. Based on the hugely successful Malayalam film Shekar, directed by Joju George, comes Joseph (2018). Those who are familiar with Joseph will recognize the similarities in this film, so it may be a remake. This year, both the story and the characters were exceptional. In 2022, it’s possible that the movie was ruined by an overabundance of standard detective scenes.
The film’s protagonist is introduced in a captivating opening sequence. What follows, however, causes viewers to question whether or not this is a suspense thriller at all. There are a few twists and turns in the plot, but none of them are particularly interesting.
It is fine how Rajashekhar portrays Sheakar as he gets older. He’s an elderly retired police officer who has to put in significant effort and appears physically frail while doing so, despite the fact that he’s conducting investigations. This is the same character Shivani Rajashekar, the daughter of the actor Rajashekar, plays in the film. She and the rest of the cast are a joy to watch in action.
As a veteran director, she must adapt to the changing landscape of filmmaking if she hopes to captivate a new generation of moviegoers. For a thriller, Mallikarjun Naragani’s camerawork and Anup Rubens’ music aren’t up to snuff. Although he worked as hard as the other technical departments, it wasn’t enough for him; they were all outstanding.
Shekar isn’t for everyone, but thriller fans may enjoy it.

Movie Rating: 3/ 5
