It is said that the makers are eyeing big numbers on Theatrical rights as well. “RRR” is scheduled to release on 13th October, 2021 in 10 Indian languages, and is being said to be one of the most expensive films ever made in India.

Produced by DVV Entertainments on an estimated budget of Rs 450 crore, the Telugu language film is a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in the early 20th century— Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem. Jr NTR and Ram Charan play brothers in the modern-day portion of RRR and will be seen as Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju respectively in the period flashback episode.
As per the latest grapevine, the non-theatrical rights including digital, satellite, audio rights of RRR have fetched in excess of Rs 200 crores (all languages). The producer of the film, DVV Danayya is presently busy finalizing the pre-release theatrical business of the film in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Overseas. MM Keeravani is on board to compose the tunes and KK Senthil Kumar for cinematography with A Sreekar Prasad roped in for editing. RRR will be releasing in ten Indian languages.

The makers on May 26, 2021, announced that the digital streaming rights of the PAN Indian movie acquired by Netflix and ZEE5. Also, RRR will stream in various languages including English, Portuguese, Turkish, Spanish, and Korean on the OTT platforms. The film’s Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions will be made available on ZEE5. And Netflix will stream the Hindi, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, and Spanish versions of RRR.
This is one of the biggest ever non-theatrical businesses recorded by any Indian film and speaks volumes about the buzz and anticipation around the project. As per the latest reports, the satellite and digital rights of the film got sold for a whopping amount of Rs 200 crores including all the Indian languages.
RRR Satellite Rights
While the Zee Network holds the satellite rights of the Hindi version of RRR, the Star India network owns the television rights of the film’s Telugu Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions. According to reports, the Zee group has acquired the digital and satellite rights of RRR by paying over Rs 150 crore. On the other side, Asianet holds the Malayalam satellite rights of the film.
